The Art of Wrestling
(3/10/09)

Well wrestling fans. This is the first of what will be  my weekly opinion (and I stress the word opinion)  column here on PWSmarks.com. I'll discuss the  wrestlers of the PWS. By that I mean PWSR and PWSX.  I'll give you my opinion on the talent of our  wonderful company, as well as discuss rumors, and  other issues that have been brought to my attention.  Hope you'll get just a little bit of enjoyment out of  my weekly thoughts and possibly give me some feedback  here and there.

My first topic this month will be the upcoming  Pay-Per-View, Destiny. Destiny is our biggest PPV of  the year here in PWS. It's become a pretty big deal to  our stars and staff.. And can have a large impact on  the way the other eight months of the year play out.  While the PWSR's World Title Match has not been  decided, or at least announced yet.. Alpha Dog has  been absolutely rigid the past few weeks due to an  unknown assailant who destroyed and "decorated" his  car with spray paint before Alpha was extradited from  the show. The words spray-painted on the side of  Alpha's automobile were simply, "BLOOD and WATER..  LIFE and DEATH."There are many rumors amongst fans,  and fellow PWSR employees as to who the assailant may  be. All I can say is this. If you think you know who  the entity is that continues to play mind games with  Alpha week after week.. Don't be so sure, until you've  seen it with your own eyes.

Also at Destiny will be the PWSX World Title Match  between "Mr Flawless" Jade Shocker, and "The Diesel"  Mack Payne. I don't know either of these men  personally, but if I had to guess.. I'd say that this  match has the potential to be a show stealer. Last  time Jade and Mack faced off, Mack pinned Jades  shoulders to the mat, ending his 8 match winning  streak. The previous time, Jade delivered his "Jaded  Edge" from the top of Macks Peterbuilt to the roof of  Shane Fullers limousine. Jade Shocker has been the  World Champion since Blood Wars, and has been a force  to be reckoned with since his start in PWSX four  months ago.  But then again.. A match against Mack Payne is no walk in the park either. Regardless of who wins the match, I think  it's safe to say that this one will be a jawdropper,  and a clobberfest.

With the PWSR holding their qualification matches for  the Destination Next Ladder Match, and PWSX holding their XTreme Title Tournament, it's hard to be  distracted by anything else, much less anyONE else.  But a few "newbs" have caught my eye in recent weeks.  Whether it's Trisha Lee Moore attacking former womens  champion Lycra, or Hakeem Rolle calling out the  World's Champion Jade Shocker on Warzone.. It seems we  have an endless supply of fresh faces these days. And  I'll list a few of them now. PWSX: Alamar Guston,  Kasper, Crash, Hakeem Rolle, Afro Thunder, FAGS (Yes..  I said FAGS), Tank, and Havok. PWSR: Phat Phil, Rion Knox, Marcus Redd, Lightninghawk,  Dirty Dogg, Trisha Lee Moore, Miss Puppies, and The  Iceman. All of these competitors seem to have a lot of  potential, and I look forward to seeing them "Lock" it  "UP" in Revolution, and mix it up in the "Warzone"  over in PWSX. Welcome all.

Tony Angel is still fairly new to the PWSX, and yet  he's already making a huge impact in the company as  their reigning XTreme Champion. He's been VERY  successful since his ring debut, winning 100 percent  of his matches, and winning the XTreme Title in a  small amount of time. Don't be surprized if we see  him jump up a few tiers in the food chain very soon.

The Warriors stable/faction made their television  debut as a team a few weeks ago, and are already  making waves as a team in the PWSR. Steven Xavior, and  Nick Madison seem to be the co-leaders of this unique  group. They'll lock it up with the Black Blood Mafia's  Mr Fox, Alpha Dog, and LaMarcus Brown, as well as,  Marcus Redd this week on Lock-Up. Good luck guys.

My partner Sid Carmack was out the past week with a  bruised trachea from being accidentally attacked by  one half of the tag team champions Hank Mason during  the Tag Team Title "Stealth Scrap at Unlocked.  Although it was an impressive, and well, innovative  match created by GM Jack Dunn... It was also very  dangerous for all parties involved. Including the fans  at ringside. I'm not sure if we'll ever see the  stealth scrap again, but if we do.. The announce table  will have a temporary change of position prior to.

Of course I can't go on without mentioning Black Solar, whose tag team partner walked out on their tag team, as well as the company last week, leaving Solar a singles competitor. No one can doubt that Solar has the skills, and the look to make it to the top.. It's all up to him now. He will face Wolf this week for the Intercontinental Title. That will be his first real test as a singles competitor.se. I

My fantasy cross-brand matchup this week.. The PWSR's  Wolf vs The PWSX's Tank! Both, large men who like to  act first and then do the thinking after the fact.  Wolf is in line for a World Title Shot directly after  Destiny.. Tank has teamed with the unruly Enforcer and  is sure to begin tearing up the scene soon enough.  There are a lot of variables that could easily turn  the tide, but if I had to make a guess, I'd say that  Wolf would win this one by a hair, simply because he's  been around just a tad longer than Tank. Experience  makes a huge difference here in PWS and anywhere in  the wrestling world. Wolf also has a slight height  advantage of 6 inches, and a huge weight advantage of  65 pounds. Wolf is also fired up after last week's  chair attack by Warrick Reid, as well as Jack Dunn  placing Wolf in a match against.. Jack Dunn. Don't ask  me what my substitute broadcast partner was thinking.  Perhaps his tie was cutting off blood circulation to  his brain. Or maybe he just got ahead of himself.  Either way, you won't want to miss the last two  Lock-Ups leading to Destiny, as the friction between  these two is sure to just keep on building.

That's all I got for you this week Art Enthusiasts.  But I should be back next week with more  opinions(correct or not.). If not, then you can surely  catch me on Lock-Up every Wednesday night at 9pm  Eastern time. Until then, take care.

Your Friend
"Good Ole' AC" Art Campbell
